WHAT IS IGCSE?

The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is one of the most recognized qualifications around the world. IGCSE courses are renowned for developing vital educational skills, including recall of knowledge, oral skills, problem solving initiative, teamwork and investigative skills. The resulting qualification provides a foundation for high-level courses.


AT WHAT STAGE STUDENT CAN JOIN THE PROGRAM

The students who are studying in Standard VIII (SSC, ICSE, CBSE, NIOS or equivalent) with good results are eligible, subject to interview/ entrance test at RIMS.


WHERE IS IGCSE ACCEPTED AND RECOGNIZED?

  • IGCSE is a high-profile qualification. It has exactly the same value in admitting students to institutes of further education and employments as the UK equivalent GCSE.
  • IGCSE is comparable with GCE 'O' Level and the UK GCSE and is equivalent to the Indian Grade X exams (SSC, ICSE, CBSE, NIOS or equivalent).

DO LOCAL BOARDS AND UNIVERSITIES ACCEPT ‘IGCSE’?

All Indian Boards and Universities accept the 'IGCSE' as equivalent to Std. X


WHEN AND WHERE ARE THE IGCSE EXAMINATION HELD?

The 'IGCSE' course is a two-year program and examinations are taken at the end of the period. The examinations are held at the RIMS campus in for Grade X in the month of March. 


COMPARE WITH THE COST OF GETTING EDUCATION IN UK

The same education would cost you £12,000 (Rs. 10 lacs.) for a two-year period of tuition fees. The cost of accommodation and other living expenses would be approximately £12,000 (Rs. 10 lacs.) for two years. Thus the total expenditure would be around 20 lacs.


WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS AVAILABLE AFTER THE IGCSE?

Post the successful completion of the IGCSE, students can continue their studies from any of the local colleges in India or students can pursue the international 'A' Levels at RIMS or any international curriculum in India or abroad.

The 'A' Level is a superior alternative to HSC or Junior College and is a two-year program after Std. X conducted by the University of Cambridge International Examinations (UCIE). 

It is one of the most recognized qualifications around the world and is accepted as a proof of academic ability for an entry into any reputed Universities (including Mumbai and other Indian universities).


ARE THE FACULTY AT RIMS QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED TO TEACH?

All faculty members appointed are adequately qualified and experienced to deliver the IGCSE curriculum, however RIMS policy encourages continuous professional development of teachers throughout the year ensuring good teaching and successful learning.


WHAT IS THE ASSESSMENT SYSTEM FOLLOWED AT RIMS?

Formative and Summative assessments for students as a standard approach is followed across all grades at RIMS.

IS THERE AN EMERGENCY FACILITY AVAILABLE AT RIMS?

RIMS school is equipped completely to deal with any fire and medical emergencies. The building is fire proof and the school also has a tie up with a nearby hospital. A doctor on call and a full time nurse in the school with a dedicated sick bay is available for temporary medical relief.
